Magazine-style poster prompt for slicing a photo into stair-step segments
Prompt
Applies to any real photograph, not limited to travel, urban, or single-scene images. Preserve the original subject, true colors, proportions, and spatial structure; cut the entire photo along a horizontal or vertical direction and rearrange it so the outer contour forms a continuous, advancing stair-step cut edge.
Each image fragment must still come from the same photo; subjects, buildings, roads, people, or objects should maintain a traceable, continuously recognizable relationship between adjacent segments—do not randomly scramble them. Leave narrow, distinct off-white paper gaps between segments; use staggered heights, forward/backward progression, and scale variation to create a directional editorial rhythm, making the whole photo look like it has been “cut and re-laid out,” not like multiple images collaged together.
Add a small amount of large sans-serif headlines, very short copy lines, page numbers, or thin numbering. Text may span the margins or sit close to the stepped edges, but must not obscure the subject. Overall, maintain the restrained aesthetic of a travel magazine, photography book, or cultural publication.
Overlay slight paper fibers, coarse print grain, ink speckling, and very subtle registration misalignment to give the image the tactile feel of a real printed publication; base colors on the original photo and do not force a fixed city color grade.
The core visual must be: the same real photograph is continuously sliced and reorganized via stair-step edges into a rhythmic editorial layout.
Avoid: neat grids, 3x3 (nine-panel) grids, random fragment collages, mixing multiple different photos, excessive text, info cards, travel-postcard decorations, “original/AI image” labels, and excessive torn-paper effects.

Summary
Use with a single attached photo. Cut the same photo into elongated pieces that remain recognizably connected, then rearrange them so the outer shape forms a stair-step pattern. Create a magazine-like poster by adding narrow ivory margins, a large headline, and a slightly gritty printed texture.
